Self Black

This is a less popular and rare color.

This is in contrast with the past. Then the self blacks were the most important variety of the self ins. They also belong together with the whites and the blue to the oldest breeds. In Ghent, people called the self blacks 'Mooren' in the past.

The black need to be intensive and deep over the body with green gloss in the neck and on the globe. The eyes are in tricolor and eyeborders are dark. The beak and nails are darkgrey.

Because they are very rare, you don't find much breeders anymore at the moment. Their level goes from low to moderate.
